[ARCHIVED] ATC Lake Country Trail Project Update

American Transmission Co. is in the process of removing and replacing transmission poles and wires near and along the Lake Country Trail, as part of a 58-mile project called the Quad County Electric Reliability Project.

The section of the Lake Country Trail from Hwy. P to Glen Cove Road is scheduled to remain closed until restoration efforts of the trail are complete. Although ATC anticipates the restoration of the trail to be complete by mid-June, the timing of the work on the trail will be impacted by the weather and ground thaw.

Construction along the section of the Lake Country Trail from Glen Cove Road to the trail head at Golf Road will begin in May and is scheduled to be complete late summer.

Heavy machinery is being used to conduct the construction and restoration. To ensure public safety, gates have been placed at the trailheads. New signage is being posted on the trail entrance gates that indicates why the trail is closed.

A map showing the construction and restoration schedule of the transmission line rebuild project along the Lake Country Trail can be found at the link below.

During the construction process - safety is paramount. ATC would like trail users to observe all trail closure signage and barricades.

Thank You.
ATC
