Handling Citations
If you have received a citation from a City of Delafield Police Officer, please follow these directions:
SUBMIT A PLEA:
THERE WILL BE NO “IN PERSON” COURT.
This means no personal appearance is allowed at this time.
If you would like to dispute this citation you may submit a plea by mail or e-mail which would then allow you a chance to speak with the City Attorney by telephone prior to the date on citation, or you may submit payment by mail or online (see below) BEFORE THE DATE ON YOUR CITATION.

In Person Trial Only Procedure
The City of Delafield Municipal Court has been approved on July 7, 2020 to resume in-person court appearances. Please be advised, as we enter a “New Normal” the Court is implementing temporary procedures for our in person court appearances. These measures are being taken as we want to provide the safest possible environment for all.
The following are MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS TO APPEAR IN PERSON:
Each defendant must be screened prior to entering the building
Do you, or anyone you have recently been in close contact with, have a fever of greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, chills, persistent cough or difficulty breathing?
Have you traveled outside the State within the past 14 days?
Have you, or anyone you have recently been in close contact with, been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID19 within the last 14 days?
If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, you will be refused admittance and asked to contact the court by 12:00 p.m. the next day at 262.646-6245 to obtain a new court date.
- It is required that all persons, including Judge and staff, who are present in the courtroom shall wear a face mask unless the Judge specifically determines on the record that it is necessary for a witness not to wear a face covering during witness’s testimony in order for the Judge to weigh the witness’s credibility. The court does not supply these and you must bring your own face covering.
- We encouraged you to bring your own pens to court. In the event that a you do not have a pen; the court would provide one. That pen would not be used again during the court session and would be sanitized before any further use.
Sign in: All defendants will be signed in at the Court entrance by court personnel.
State Citations
If you received a state traffic citation you must appear at the Waukesha County Courthouse, 515 W. Moreland Boulevard on the date and time indicated on your citation. You will be notified by the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office of any changes in your court date.
Note: Check with Waukesha County for availability due to CoVID.

Municipal Court is located in the Council Chambers in the Lower Level of City Hall at 500 Genesee Street (Hwy C). View the directions map or the directions below:
- Take I-94 or Hwy 16 to Hwy C
- From I-94 go north on Hwy C
- From Hwy 16 go south on Hwy C into the downtown area
Parking
Municipal parking lots are located behind the City Hall building on Oneida Street or across from City Hall on the west side of Genesee Street. There is handicap parking available in the back of City Hall; enter from Oneida Street.
